Mint Chutney| Pudina Chutney | पुदीना चटनी
Mint chutney or Pudina chutney being an extras or a sider for your Indian cuisine or snacks is always loved by most of Indians. It is served with snacks like chaats, pakoras, and sandwiches or even with heavy appetizers like kebabs or grills.
It gives your dish a delicious and fresh aromatic flavour. This is the simplest way of making Indian condiment pudina chutney using fresh mint leaves and freshly grated coconut. You can serve it with south Indian snacks like idli, uttappa or dosa. It is actually a combo with any Indian snacks.
For variations, you can also make this chutney by adding yogurt and give it a smoke for using while you have tandoori dishes. It is perhaps a side dish which goes with any appetizer or snacks.
So let’s start with the recipe.
Preparation: 5 minutes
Serves: ¾ cup chutney
Ingredients (सामग्री):
- 15-20 mint leaves (१५-२० पुदीना के पत्ते)
- 2 teaspoon chopped coriander leaves (२ छोटा चमच कटा हुआ धनिया)
- 7-8 garlic cloves (७-८ लहसुन लौंग)
- 4-5 green chillies (४-५ हरी मिर्च)
- ½ inch chopped ginger (१/२ इंच बारीक़ कटा अदरक)
- 4 teaspoon grated fresh coconut (४ छोटा चमच किसा हुआ ताज़ा नारियल)
- ½ teaspoon salt (१/२ छोटा चमच नमक)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (१ छोटा चमच नींबू का रस)
- 2 teaspoon water (२ छोटा चमच पानी)
How to make Mint chutney (पुदीने की चटनी कैसे बनाये):
- Take 7-8 garlic cloves, 4-5 green chillies and ½ inch ginger in jar and grind it roughly.
- पुदीना चटनी बनाने के लिए, मिक्सर के बर्तन में ७-८ लहसुन लौंग, ४-५ हरी मिर्च और १/२ इंच अदरक लेके उसे हल्का पीसे।
- Now take 15-20 mint leaves and 2 teaspoon of chopped coriander leaves, wash them thoroughly and add it in a jar.
- अब १५-२० पुदीने के पत्ते और २ छोटा चमच कटा धनिया पानी से धोये और मिक्सर के बर्तन में मिलाए।
- Grind a thick paste consistency.
- Now add 4 teaspoon grated fresh coconut and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and grind again.
- अब उस मिश्रण में ४ छोटा चमच किसा हुआ ताज़ा नारियल और १ छोटा चमच नींबू का रस मिलाए और फिर पीसे।
- Stir the mixture once with a spoon and check whether all the ingredients are grinded.
- एक बार मिश्रण को चमच से हिलाए और चेक करे की सभी सामग्री अच्छे से पीसी है।
- Add 1-2 teaspoon of water as per the thickness and grind again to make a smooth paste called chutney.
- अब चटनी अगर ज्यादा गाढी हो तो उस हिसाब से १-२ चमच पानी मिलाए।
- Now remove the chutney the chutney in a serving bowl.
- चटनी को बाउल में निकाले और परोसे।
- Your delicious, mouth watering Mint chutney is ready to be served.
- आपकी चटपटी और स्वादिष्ट पुदीने की चटनी अब तैयार है।

Note:
- You can store this chutney for about 4-5 days in refrigerator.
- Add a few drops of vinegar or lemon juice to mint chutney and store in a glass container. It will add a fine flavour and keep it green as this chutney tends to turn blackish in colour when stored for long.
- If the colour changes, it is still edible.
- Always use only the mint leaves for chutney and do not use stems as it can give your chutney a bitter taste.
- For better taste you can add a pinch of chaat masaala to this chutney as it can take it to a next level.
